iVentions enables the grand opening of the European Year of Volunteering 2011 in Brussels

2010-11-28

The European Commission has nominated the year 2011 as the “European Year of Volunteering,” with the aim to enhance and stimulate volunteer work in Europe.

Throughout the year, 27 interactive events will take place in all capitals of the European member states. Volunteers, NGO’s, and national officials will be actively leading conferences and debates. Iventions International Events S.L. from Barcelona has designed and developed the physical environment and the structure that enable such engaging activities. Together with its dedicated partners, Iventions has created a multi-functional space for volunteers and NGO’s to communicate and experience the latest developments on volunteering. This space includes areas to hold debates, NGO presentations, an EU corner, and a volunteering experience center.

This project is an exciting and challenging undertaking due to it’s complex coordination, pan-European logistics, and multi-lingual presentation. Officially starting December 3rd, 2010 in Brussels and ending December 4th, 2011 in Valletta, Malta, the tour will travel throughout all 27 capitals in Europe. Iventions has customized the traveling display for all 27 events based on the local needs and cultural preferences of each city and country.

The initiation event will take place from December 3rd until December 12th at the Spanjeplein in the center of Brussels. All citizens are encouraged to attend this event and open their eyes to the huge difference volunteer work has in our lives in countless ways. The Iventions’ event architect’s will also be present at the grand opening and look forward to meeting all of the participants.
